Lord Of The Rings’ Billy Boyd To Sing End Credits Song In Last Hobbit Film

Billy Boyd, known for his role as Pippin in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, has been picked to sing the end credits song for The Hobbit’s final installment.

We know Billy Boyd for portraying the hobbit, Pippin, in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. He was a member of the Fellowship of the Ring , and is notable for being one of the original companions of Frodo Baggins when he first ventured out of the shire with the one ring.

He was a major supporting character, but fans of the trilogy will always remember him for that one haunting and beautiful scene where he sang the ‘Edge of Night’ in Return of the King.

Well, it looks like we will be hearing that magnificent voice once again, since producers have tapped him to sing the end credits song in The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies, which will be the last movie in the prequel trilogy to The Lord of the Rings.

It seems fitting that a hobbit will be closing the curtain on the Hobbit Trilogy. He will be joining the ranks of Neill Finn, who performed “Song of the Lonely Mountain” for the first film, An Unexpected Journey , and Ed Sheeran who sang “I See Fire” for The Desolation of Smaug.

The Battle of The Five Armies is set to hit theaters on December 17. Watch the trailer below, which features Billy Boyd’s rendition of the Edge of Night.
