Carrie Bradshaw’s Photo Shoot Invades Privacy

The residents of Carrie Bradshaw’s 66 Perry St. townhouse are super upset about Sarah Jessica Parker’s unauthorized photoshoot on their front stoop.

The residents of Carrie Bradshaw’s 66 Perry St. townhouse are super upset about Sarah Jessica Parker’s unauthorized photo shoot on the front stoop of their home.

West Village townhouse that was Carrie Bradshaw’s home in HBO’s classic, “Sex and the City” was used for SJP’s Nordstrom shoe line’s promotional photos.

Gerald Banu, president of the Perry Street Association, told Page Six, “I heard about the shoot. They didn’t get the permission from the owner. The situation with ‘SATC’ visitors is still very intense. People who live here get upset that the sidewalks are constantly jammed.”

In 1998, when “Sex and the City” asked to use the townhouse for the show, the owners agreed to allow them to do so. Since then, they have had to deal with tourists hanging out on their street and in front of their house. There is even a “Sex and the City” bus tour in New York City, which includes 66 Perry St.

The owners of the townhouse have a sign, requesting that people don’t go on the staircase, complete with a metal chain blocking people from going up the stairs. Yet, the photo shoot took place directly in front of, and behind, this sign without permission.

Parker has ignored requests from the owners, asking for an explanation for why she would further invade their privacy. If the owners didn’t permit the SJP collection to shoot, it is unlikely that they cut the home owners a cheque to compensate for their invasion of privacy.

My biggest problem with this? Carrie would never wear Sarah Jessica Parker’s shoe collection.
