After several new castings, the highly anticipated season five filming of Game of Thrones is under way. Over the past month or two, several on-set pictures have been leaked, along with the recent news that a good $200,00 was spent in an attempt to keep a particular scene from next season under wrap. It is said that this scene is of Cersei Lannister’s humiliating nude walk through the streets of King’s Landing.
Game of Thrones fan site, Winter is Coming, recently released on-set pictures of numerous characters’ scenes from the upcoming season, including Arya in Braavos, Jamie Lannister in Dornish clothing, Elaaria Sand and her daughters (aka the Sand Snakes) and most recently, Daenerys and her companions in Meereen.
A video from a scene surrounding Daenerys’ storyline in Meereen’s Daznak’s pit has surfaced as well, involving a countdown as stuntmen are set afire from what, we can assume, will be transformed through CGI into one of Daenerys’ dragons.
Fans of the book series A Song Of Ice And Fire will be sure to realize the scene portrayed in the video belongs to one of Daenerys’ last pivotal moments from her storyline in the books. It leads to her trying to control, and then being taken away with her dragon, only to be stranded in the middle of the Dothraki Sea. All of which occurs only after her marriage to a Meereenese noble, Hizdahr zo Lorag (who we also see sitting alongside her). Missandei and Tyrion Lannister are also in the previously released set pictures.
Unfortunately, the video has now been taken down, but several on-set pictures from the scene in the video can be viewed below, as well as several more on Winter is Coming.
