Cheryl Breaks Record With Fifth UK #1

This week’s saw Cheryl’s latest single, “I Don’t Care”, topping the British charts and making her the female act with the most UK chart topers, with 5.

Ever since parting ways with Girls Aloud and launching her very own solo career, Cheryl has been one of the most successful British acts in the modern pop era. The X Factor UK judge recently released her fourth studio album, Only Human, and just broke a record with her latest single, “I Don’t Care”.

“I Don’t Care” serves as the second offering to be lifted from the songstress’ latest studio album and it went on to reach the top spot of UK’s Official Singles Chart. The track marks as the fifth single in Cheryl’s career to go #1, following “Fight For This Love”, “Promise This”, “Call My Name” and “Crazy Stupid Love”. In addition to that, it’s the first non-lead single in her back catalog to land on the top of the charts. There is no denying that the release of the album and her performance on The X Factor UK boosted the sales, so that she could achieve that record.

The newly-achieved success makes Cheryl the British female act with the most UK #1s. She was formerly up there with four chart toppers, sharing the title along with Spice Girls’ Geri Halliwell and Rita Ora. Good for her!
