Cecily Strong has definitely made her mark on comedy through her time on Saturday Night Live, which has been going so well, she is set to take her seat at the White House’s most important evening, the Correspondent’s Dinner, next year.
Strong will be the fourth woman to host the event, with only Wanda Sykes, Paula Poundstone and Aretha Franklin serving as previous hosts.
Strong will also join an array of SNL castmembers who have hosted the show, including Seth Meyers, Al Franken, Conan O’Brien and Darrell Hammond.
Christi Parsons, the White House Correspondents’ Association president, had this to say about Cecily’s selection to host:
“Her political humor is sly and edgy, and it comes with a Chicago accent. Cecily grew up in suburban Oak Park, Ill. and got her start in Chicago’s comedy scene with stints at iO and Second City,”
The dinner will be held on April 25th, 2015.
