It seems the cast of Once Upon a Time is growing! At least, the cast of villains is growing. How exciting is that?

It appears that Rumplestiltskin is establishing quite the band of cohorts. As previously announced, Victoria Smurfit (alum of Dracula and Ivanhoe) has been cast as the fur-loving villainess Cruella De Vil. Kristin Bauer van Straten will reprise her role as Maleficent. Now, we have an actress to play Ursula, who was previously voiced by Yvette Nicole Brown. Merrin Dungey, notably seen in Alias, will be taking on the role of the iconic sea-witch (via Entertainment Weekly).

What’s even better than casting news? Photos. YVR Shoots and Canadagraphs released the first images of Smurfit in her full Cruella regalia. She was filming with Robert Carlyle and Merrin Dungey.

Other notable news is that Meghan Ory was seen on set yesterday, with queenluvay on Twitter offering photo proof of her return. Series creators Adam Horowitz and Eddie Kitsis also told TVLine, “Two of the show’s most beloved relationships will be tested and changed forever as Storybrooke says goodbye to some of their own.”

I don’t know about you, but I am excited to see what happens next on Once Upon a Time. What does Mr. Gold have planned? How will these villainesses come into play? Share your thoughts and theories – sound off below!
