Martin Scorsese once again managed to get his hands full with a brand-new project, Cortes. The television show is not only already being talked about, but it also got picked up by HBO.
The series will be a historical drama following Hernán Cortés, the conqueror who vanished the Aztecs and made sure to expand the Spanish Empire as much as possible. Of course none of all that happened without him coming along all kinds of different people. Cortes will most likely showcase his relationships with the Mayan, Malinche, and the leader of the Aztecs, whose friendship he betrayed.
Cortes is scheduled to be directed by Martin Scorsese and penned by Chris Gerolmo. The two of them are set to join forces with Benicio Del Toro in executive production, with the latter also being interested in starring in the show as the conqueror.
