Rihanna Has An Album Dropping “Very Soon”

It’s been two years since Rihanna dropped her latest album, but during a recent interview the songstress revealed her next record is coming “very soon”.

The times when hardly a year went by without Rihanna dropping a brand-new album seem to be long gone. After her seventh record, 2012’s Unapologetic, the songstress took a break and hasn’t made a comeback ever since. However, it seems she’s finally ready to do so!

During a recent interview on the red carpet, the “We Found Love” star revealed that she was hoping to drop her next album “very soon”. “I’m really excited about the music that we’ve been working on, so I can’t wait for everybody to hear it.”, she continued. Furthermore, Rihanna neither confirmed nor denied rumors of her dropping the eighth record of her career out of nowhere, à la Beyoncé.

An unexpected release coming from Rihanna is not a too far-fetched story really. Considering she’s planning to release the record in a short period of time, the things we know about it so far are only a few. We know for sure that Calvin Harris won’t be involved, but Nicki Minaj, Big Sean and DJ Mustard are possible collaborators. In addition to that, Ne-Yo has heard some new tunes from her and was amazed, but was also afraid to spill the beans on what they were like. From what the songstress herself has stated, she’s overthinking everything to make sure that she will outdo any previous work of hers.

What do you think? Is Rihanna planning to drop #R8 out of the blue? Only time will tell.
