In a new Peter Pan origin film, the iconic evil pirate won’t be Hook, but a new character named Blackbeard. But fret not if you are worried on how this will all pan out, the villainous pirate will be played by the talented Hugh Jackman!
In this film simply titled Pan, Jackman uses his flying ship and crew of pirates to kidnap young wartime orphans. Among those he has taken is a young boy by the name of Peter. In new promotional photos released from the upcoming film, we see Jackman sporting a magnificent goatee and mustache and is donning what appears to be an armor typical of spanish conquistadors.
But if you are thinking that a Peter Pan film is incomplete without Hook no matter how good a substitute would be, you have nothing to worry about because Garret Hedlund will be portraying a much more youthful and dashing version of the Neverland pirate. As Director Joe Wright had said ” “This isn’t exactly the Neverland story you know.”
Pan is set to hit theaters on July 17, 2015
