Pablo Aguero has been making efforts to kick off the production of a brand-new Evita film for quite a while now, but it keeps getting further delayed each and every single time. As it seems, that will come to an end soon, since the director has now gone and pushed things forward to start the shoot this coming January.
The movie will revolve around the story of Argentina’s former First Lady, Evita Peron, who was previously portrayed by Madonna for the American market. Previously scheduled to begin shooting in early 2014, the plans didn’t work out and it’s now headed for an early 2015 beginning. Despite the principal photography scheduled to take place in January, the film has yet to find its Evita, since actress Mia Maestro walked away from the project.
Evita has really been long-awaited and we hope the quest for the main protagonist won’t cause more push backs. The rest of the cast includes Gael Garcia Bernal, Denis Lavant, Daniel Fanego, Imanol Arias and Nahuel P. Biscayart. Alongside Pablo Aguero, the film is set to be co-produced by JBA, Haddock, Wrong Man and Tornasol.
