The new Terminator: Genisys trailer hit the internet in December but will have an official spot this Sunday during the Superbowl and I’m actually a little excited now. After watching the trailer, it looks like Genisys will deliver the kind fun, heart-pumping, popcorn munching, soda-chugging, candy-popping action we’ve seen from the previous Terminator films. There’s a school bus that flips over, Arnold jumps (more like flops limply, yet heroically) from a helicopter; we have young Terminator, old Terminator and the return of a fan favorite, the liquid metal T-1000! Although Genisys has all the earmarks of a re-boot with the return of Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese, there appears to be a bit of a role reversal as we see Sarah is clearly ready for whatever these menacing cyborgs from the future have to throw at her.
The cast is definitely something to get excited over; Genisys stars Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Jason Clarke (The Great Gatsby), Matt Smith (Doctor Who) and of course, our beloved Ah-nold, grey hairs and all! With “The Mother of Dragons” locked and loaded for action, Arnold back in the saddle, and a Doctor along for the ride, I am already planning my theater snacks.
