After the New England Patriot’s thrilling 28-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks, a special post Super Bowl episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon featured Jimmy, the Roots and some of their more musically inclined friends doing some celebrating.
With the screen cut into a grid reminiscent of the opening to The Brady Bunch, Fallon sang over The Roots beatboxing as they launched into an a capella version of the Queen classic “We Are The Champions”. Joining in shortly after were Carrie Underwood, Sam Smith, and the vocal acrobatics of Ariana Grande. Before long it was a proper party, with Usher, Blake Shelton, Meghan Trainor and One Direction all singing along to the Queen’s 1977 anthem of victory before Christina Aguilera jumps in to steal the show during the song’s final, soaring chorus.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 on NBC.
