Our Beloved Paul Rudd Returns To Parks and Recreation

Paul Rudd will make a triumphant return to the small screen this month, reprising his role as Bobby Newport in the final season of “Parks and Recreation”

Bobby Newport never worked a day in his life, but the same can’t be said for Paul Rudd.

The Ant-man, Clueless and Role Models star is reprising his star role as Bobby Newport, the spoiled simpleton son of the richest man in Pawnee, Indiana, for  two episodes during the final season of Parks and Recreation.

Producer Michael Schur spoke to Entertainment Weekly about Rudd, saying:

“He’s the world’s nicest human being—and the funniest. We made a list a list of who we wanted to have back and he was high on the list and we were able to snag him.”

When asked about Newport’s appearance on the show, Schur was tight lipped. He did mention that Ben (played by the wonderful Adam Scott) has to fill a roll and thinks Newport would be a perfect fit.

I’m intrigued, and so, so, so excited.

Then again, I can’t help but think of this as bittersweet news: Because Bobby Newport is an amazing, hilarious character, but soon it will be the end of Parks and Recreation.

Ron Swanson does not approve.

However, he does approve of the return of Bobby Newport. Paul Rudd and the character last appeared in Parks and Recreation in Season 4 when Bobby ran against Amy Poehler’s Leslie Knope for City Council, and caused quite the stir and quite the amount of laughs.

And we’ll see even more of Paul Rudd this year, as Ant-Man is hitting the silver screen.

But I digress.

The final season finished filming two months ago, with appearances from returning cast members Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe as Ann Perkins and Chris Traeger.

I literally cannot wait. Literally.

PopWrappers and Parks and Rec fans, what are your thoughts on the final season? And what do you think Bobby Newport is suited for? The mystery continues.
