Movie Review: It Follows

Make sure you have a friend or a stuffed animal with you for this one. Read on for our review of It Follows.

I got the opportunity to see the new teen horror It Follows recently and let me tell you, the walk home was TERRIFYING!

The movie is about a teenage girl called Jay who starts dating a guy, and after a few dates they have sex and that’s when things turn sinister.

Turns out the guy had a sexually transmitted CURSE! He passed it to Jay when they had sex and now she must pass on the curse to someone else before it kills her.

Take a look at the trailer for more info!

Personally, I loved the movie.

What I like is that it’s set almost out of time, like you don’t know if it’s set in the ’80’s or the present.

Maika Monroe, who plays Jay, is incredible. She brings her character to life and makes you believe thatwhat you’re seeing is actually happening, which of course makes watching the movie in a dark room horrifying!

The director of the movie, David Robert Mitchell, is a genius quite frankly. The story is unique, the camera work is brilliant, and the soundtrack is definitely the best soundtrack I’ve ever heard. It’s very classic; it sounds like something from a John Carpenter movie, very intense and scary.

I never like spoiling movies so I won’t include much detail about the story. It’s definitely worth seeing, but NOT ALONE! You definitely need someone to hide behind!

It Follows is out February 27th in the UK and March 13th in the U.S.!
