True Blood and Magic Mike star Joe Manganiello has officially dropped out of his position as a series lead on the upcoming series, Scream Queens, and will be replaced by Oliver Hudson (Nashville).
Scream Queens is a horror-comedy anthology series that has been picked up by Fox with primarily female leads throughout (Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Abigail Breslin, Lea Michele) centered on a college sorority effected by a series of murders on their very own college campus.
Manganiello was slated as a series regular but has given up his commitment due to “promotion for Magic Mike XXL,” however the internet had been circulating rumors that the True Blood star has actually been tapped to play Slade Wilson (Deathstroke) in the upcoming DC film The Suicide Squad based on the popular DC comics characters.
While it is unknown if Manganiello will actually star in Suicide Squad with characters such as the Joker (Jared Leto) and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie). It’s one of the more promising rumors as Manganiello oozes the dark-gritty, rough persona that Deathstroke is expected to have. Now if only we could introduce Terra into the film somehow… one can hope!
Would you be satisfied with Joe Manganiello playing the DC villain we all love to hate?
