Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of the classic ‘Beauty And The Beast’ now has an official release date and some interesting cast additions.

The live action movie of Beauty and the Beast which stars Emma Watson has finally got a released date. Disney has announced that the film will be shown on March 17, 2017.

And in also exciting news for the production, it seems that Emma Watson will be reuniting with a Harry Potter co-star, as it was announced that actress Emma Thompson, who you may remember as Professor Trelawny or Nanny Mcphee, is to join the live action fairytale cast.  She will be playing Mrs. Potts, according to reports from The Hollywood Reporter. Actor Kevin Kine is also set to join the cast!

The music for Beauty And The Beast will be scored by Alan Menken, who originally did the animated film and got two Academy Awards for his work; new recordings of the original material will be done, along with additional new songs, written by Menken and Tim Rice.

Disney seems to be doing very well for itself! With the recent Cinderella opening with $68 million this past weekend in the US, you can be sure that more live action films will be produced with great success, including the Jungle Book and the sequel to 2010’s Alice in Wonderland.

Production for Beauty And The Beast is set to begin in May at Shepperton Studios in London.
