Robbie Kay Joins Cast Of Heroes Reborn

The young British actor Robbie Kay has officially been cast in the upcoming series Heroes Reborn, which will serve as a sequel to the original Heroes show.

Robbie Kay (Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger TidesOnce Upon A Time) has been selected to appear in the new upcoming min-series event Heroes Reborn, according to Deadline. The mini-series will be a sequel to the original NBC series Heroes that ran for four seasons. During its time on the air, Heroes managed to create a massive fan following for its varied characters and surprisingly eerie character driven stories, but was unfortunately cancelled by the network.

The young actor will most likely be playing a new original character for the upcoming series, alongside Jack Coleman (HRG from the original series) and Zachary Levi (Chuck) for the 13 episode event. While currently labeled as a “mini-series event,” this formula, if successful, has proven that these shows can actually receive additional renewals such as Under The Dome, which is now on its respective third season.

The plot of Heroes Reborn has been kept fairly quiet as of now, but with the casting process moving forward and the occasional reminiscent teaser trailer, it will be fascinating to see how NBC handles the upcoming series. Heroes Reborn will be helmed by Tim Kring (Heroes creator) and will air on NBC later this year for a 13 episode season.
