After finally breaking into the scene with her debut album Aquarius, Tinashe strikes back to provide her fans with some more free music. The songstress has now dropped seven brand-new tracks in the form of a free mixtape, titled Amethyst.
Tinashe crafted the mixtape as a gift to give back to her fans and decided to name it after her birth stone. Ryan Hemsworth, DJ Dahi, Ritz Reynolds, Nez & Rio are only a few of the producers involved with the project, while one track features Iamsu. Sonically, she’s far from her major label-supported record,Aquarius. The mixtape finds the “2 On” star trying more experimental urban melodies, with a more chilled-out overall sound and her swagger totally on point. Amethyst unveils a different side of Tinashe as an artist; one that might not satisfy all of her fans, but will be truly appreciated by the most.
This isn’t the first time that Tinashe has dropped a mixtape of course. The songstress actually got in the game long before making a name for herself, as she dropped her very first free set back in early 2012. Amethyst serves as her fourth mixtape overall and was entirely recorded in her bedroom, during Christmas. Take a listen and download it below.
