Captain America: Civil War — Production & Plot Revealed!

Captain America: Civil War is scheduled to hit theaters on May 6, 2016. Thanks to extras and casting notices, we now have some hints about the movie’s plot!

It is only a matter of weeks before super hero mega film event Avengers:Age of Ultron is set to hit theaters. But as it turns out, the geniuses behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe are wasting no time in trying to bring us the next movie in the series. We should all be thankful!

Brotherly duo, Joe and Anthony Russo, who also directed the critically acclaimed Captain America:The Winter Soldier, revealed last summer that production will begin in April on Captain America: Civil War. Now thanks to extra casting and production notices, we now have a much clearer picture of the movie’s plot.

Here is the unofficial synopsis that was reportedly sent to extras vying for a role in the film:

Following the events of Age of Ultron, the collective governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity. This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies.

This is a plot that would be familiar to comic book fans. In the comics on which the film would be based, the government created a Super Hero registration act that would require all superheroes to reveal their secret identities and register with the government in an effort to regulate their activities.

Captain America becomes disillusioned with the government’s effort for control and is against it, while Iron Man chooses to side with the authorities.

According to Collider, the casting notices went out in Atlanta and have had targeted a shooting date for April 1.

Aside from Captain America and Iron Man, Black Widow, Falcon, Black Panther, Hawkeye and Spider-Man (in his cross-over role) will be making an appearance. Meanwhile acclaimed actor Daniel Bruhl will be taking on the role of the villain, Baron Zemo.

Captain America: Civil War is scheduled to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
