It caused a bit of controversy when Marvel announced they were going to make the God of Thunder female, but fans seem to be enjoying the radical change with news that her stories are outselling her male alter ego!
The rebooted version launched last October and is currently at issue 8, with sales figures showing a large increase in readership.
Website ComiChron recently released sales figures for a host of comics, and it appears to show that the first four rebooted Thor comics are outselling the previous Thor stories by almost 20,000 copies a month!
Female Thor kicked off with 150,862 copies sold in October 2014 – compared to 65,513 for male Thor in November 2012. Quite a difference!
The next issue, hitting shelves in May, will finally reveal the thunder God’s true identity.
