Jennifer Lopez To Honor Selena At Billboard Latin Music Awards

Jennifer Lopez will perform a tribute to the late, great Selena at this years Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Nobody else would be fitting!!

And for those of you thinking “Selena Gomez”….

SHUT UP.

“American Idol” judge, pop superstar, and fashion queen Jennifer Lopez has been announced as a performer for this years Billboard Latin Music Awards.

On what would have been Selena’s 44th birthday (April 16th), Lopez &Billboard made the announcement that she will be performing a tribute in honor of the slain Tejano queen.

It’s been 18 years since JLo portrayed the late singer in the film about her life, and speaking with Billboard, Lopez opened up about the experience:

“People like that don’t come along every day,”

There is never going to be another Selena. The grace with which she handled the business, the grace with which she handled her life, the humor. Her spirit of loving what she did. Her sense of family. That’s the tragedy of everything that happened and why she left such an imprint — because she was gone way too soon.”

The show will air April 30th.

Let us not forget that Miss Lopez is always one to bring the passion and energy to tribute performances. Who else saw her bring down the house at the American Music Awards a few years back in tribute to the late Celia Cruz?
