Hooray! TV Land Renews ‘Younger’ For A Second Season

Despite the low ratings, ‘Younger’ managed to get itself enough popularity for TV Land to renew it for a second season.

Younger lives to see another day as TV Land renews the freshman series for a 12 episode-second season. This comes as quite a pleasant shock, considering Younger premiered last month to only 504,000 viewers tuning in. TV Land stated in a press release that despite Younger’s low ratings, the show has managed to reach 20 million viewers via platforms such as Hulu, Nick at Nite, TVLand.com and VOD. Series creator Darren Star commented, ” We couldn’t be more excited that audiences are discovering Younger and falling in love with our fabulous cast. I can’t wait to have everyone back in New York to shoot Season 2.”

Younger is a comedy-drama that tells the story of Liza, a recently divorced mother whose having a hard time finding a job due to her age. After Jake (Nico Tortorella) mistakenly believes her to be much younger than she actually is, Liza decides to get a make-over and lie about her age. She goes from being a “40 year old has-been” to a confident woman in her mid-twenties. Liza starts working at a publishing firm along with new bestie Kelsey (Hilary Duff) and Diana (Miriam Shor). Younger is a refreshing, hilarious and charming series that quickly captures the viewers attention and attaches them to it’s vibrant characters. It’s definitely a must-watch and thank goodness we’ll see Younger around for another season.
