Blood Blockade Battlefront’s Dub-Cast Revealed By Funimation

Funimation has announced that they have added Seraph of the End & Blood Blockade Battlefront, while keeping Assassination Classroom in their spring block.

Funimation’s Spring Simulcast Season is proving to be just as stellar as their Winter Season, which just finished airing Death Parade and Tokyo Ghoul Root A and has introduced us to Seraph of the End and Blood Blockade Battlefront while keeping Assassination Classroom as part of their spring block.

The moment I saw Blood Blockade’s trailer, I knew this series would be one I would be keeping up with along with Seraph of the End;

for me, Funimation picked up both shows for their Dubble Talk streaming block. Funimation released a brief clip of the dub whose stand-out, so far, seems to be Ian Sinclair as the wacky and lovable Zapp Renfro. The dub-cast for this much-awaited anime, which is under the direction of ADR Director Mike McFarland and assistant ADR Director Felecia Angelle, is:

  • Aaron Dismuke (Fullmetal Alchemist) as Leonardo Watch

  • Ian Sinclair (Space Dandy) as Zapp Renfro

  • Phil Parsons (Ga-Rei-Zero) as Klaus Von Reinhartz

  • Trina Nishimura (Attack on Titan) as Chain Sumeragi

  • Michael Tatum (Black Butler) as Steven A. Starphase

  • Francis Henry (One Piece) as Gilbert F. Alstein

  • Josh Grelle (Future Diary) as Femt

  • Monica Rial (Noir) as Sonic

  • Stephanie Young (Claymore) as K.K.

  • Megan Emerich as White

Blood Blockade Battlefront’s English broadcast dub will premiere tonight at 9 EDT after Seraph of the End. If you can’t wait for the English dub, then you can watch the English-subtitle version on Funimation and Hulu! Blood Blockade Battlefront, which is based on the manga of the same name by Trigun creator Yasuhiro Nightow and has been licensed by Dark Horse Comics, tells an intriguing story of a gateway that is opened up over the city of New York, trapping its citizens and other worldly characters in a protective bubble. Both humans and “aliens” learn to live together in relative harmony until a threatening outside force threatens to pop the bubble, which leads to the introduction of our supernatural protagonists; a group by the name of Libra, whose job is to protect the city’s inhabitants. This series is like a cross between Baccano, Durarara and Hamatora; it’s a winning combination that makes Blood Blockade all the more enjoyable. I’m also completely obsessed with this animes opening; it’s definitely this season’s best!
