Everybody do the Carlton, as Alfonso Ribeiro has just been announced as the new host of America’s Funniest Home Videos.
The Dancing with the Stars winner has been announced to take over the show, and filling in current host Tom Bergeron’s footsteps on the ABC show.
Most famous for his iconic performance as Carlton, Mr. Riberio will bring his particular brand of charm to the show, announcing his new post on Dancing with the Stars today which also happens to be hosted by Tom Bergeron.
Ribeiro appeared on the show with host Bergeron and said:
“You have showed me so much love and support in doing this and I couldn’t be more proud to take over for you.”
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ribeiro was asked if the show would take a different direction with him as the host, to which he responded
“[His version of AFV will be] Not all that different….Bob [Saget] was all about the jokes, and Tom has really been about setting up the videos and making them the star of the show. I think that will continue.”
Alfonso has said that he has always been a massive fan of the show and seems honoured to be taking over.
Well, we believe that Alfonso will put his twist on things and is a worthy successor to the AFV crown.
