Supermodel’s Intimate Breastfeeding Graces Elle Magazine

Nicole Trunfio’s worlds collided when she helped #NormalizeBreastfeeding with Elle Magazine.

For years, some people would argue that women would have to choose either motherhood or a successful career. But women like Nicole Trunfio are proving that belief wrong.

Trunfio is a 29-year-old Australian supermodel who is also a new mother. During one of her photoshoots, she brought her four month old son Zion along. Like any other mother, Trunfio moved away from the camera to breastfeed her son when he got hungry during the shoot. Noticing the natural beauty of the mother/son moment, photographer Georges Antoni asked for Trunfio to move back in front of the lens.

“It was a completley natural moment that resulted in a powerful picture,” Elle editor in chief Justine Cullen said.

Although Trunfio has worked with names like Versace, Gucci, and Chanel during her career, she found herself getting emotional after seeing the photo and describing it as “a special moment where my worlds have collided.”

When she posted the photo to Instagram, she captioned it emphasizing the importance of people not seeing the photo as controversial but to appreciate the beauties of motherhood and to normalize breast feeding in public.
