Mulder Returns! David Duchovny Heads To Vancouver For X-Files Reboot

Mulder Returns! David Duchovny heads to Vancouver to begin work on the long awaited X-Files reboot and tweets a picture for the fans.

Mulder returns! Earlier today, David Duchovny headed to Vancouver to begin work on the X-Files reboot and tweeted this photo to signify his return to the land of aliens, cigarette-smoking men, conspiracy theories and the first TV couple I ever shipped shamelessly. Take a moment to fully appreciate the corner of his face and the importance of this moment. Go on…I’ll wait…

If you are anything like me, you may have seen this photo and then carried your phone around work, shoving it in co-worker’s faces whilst squeeing with uncontrollable, fan-girl glee in a pitch only dogs and aliens can hear –  yeah, I did that. Reading those words and knowing I’ll be seeing new episodes of the X-Files again took me straight back to high school. When most girls were thinking about dates or hanging out with friends on Friday nights, I was busy making excuses because the new episode of the X-Files was on and I could NOT miss it! See, back then, there was no HULU. We only had VCRs. And if you were an unfortunate soul like me, with the clock blinking 12:00 and no idea how to change it, there was no way you were setting up that timer to record your show. But it was worth it – I wouldn’t trade those Friday nights for anything because there was nothing like the X-Files in the ’90s. Nothing.

Now, a whole new generation of Sci-Philes will experience the awesome-ness that is the X-Files. What do we know so far? Well, of course, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are returning to their iconic roles as Agents Mulder and Scully. It has also been confirmed that Mitch Pileggi is back as Director Skinner and actor Joel McHale (Community) has been cast to guest star in an episode. The series will return for six episodes on FOX in January.

Until then, you can watch David in Aquarius on NBC! And keep your eyes peeled for my review of season one!
