Disney To Turn Dark Fantasia Sequence Into A Live-Action Film

Disney is set to turn the dark Fantasia film sequence, ‘Night on Bald Mountain’ into their next live-action film.

If any of you have ever seen the iconic Disney classic Fantasia before, you are bound to remember that one sequence that would have probably given you nightmares as a child.

That segment in the film, titled ‘Night On Bald Mountain’ featured a large group of dark creatures celebrating into the night, before the devil himself makes an appearance, in all of his glory. Not really something you would expect from Disney, especially during the more conservative era of the 1940’s.

But prepare to relive those sleepless nights as a child, because Disney has plans to adapt this sequence into a full-blown, live-action film!

Writing duo Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, who are known for writing the script for another dark fantasy thriller, Dracula Untold, which starred Luke Evans, will be in charge of the screenplay. They will also sit in as executive producers.

‘The Night On Bald Mountain’ adaptation is part of Disney’s current trend of creating live-action versions of their animated classics. Most recent examples are Maleficent, which starred Angelina Jolie, and 2015’s Cinderella. Also in the works are live-action versions of Beauty and The Beast , Mulan, Junglebook , Dumbo, and a movie that will focus on Peter Pan’s fairy companion, called  A Tinkerbell Story.
