Will You Accept Dixie’s #DarkForDinner Challenge?

Dixie has posed a unique challenge in a new commercial…go #DarkForDinner, meaning turn off your cell phones and actually TALK to one another.

We’re all guilty of it. Scrolling furiously through our cell phones when we should actually be tuned into the real world around us.

But nothing’s worse than sitting at a dinner table surrounded by family or friends–and only being interested in your Instagram feed.

I’m constantly aware of and even saddened by it at times as I get older, so a new Dixie commercial in particular stood out to me when I saw it last night (which is a feat in itself, considering I tend to automatically tune out during ads). Dixie, if you aren’t already aware, manufactures paper products like plates and cups.

In the ad, several groups of family and friends are depicted having lively conversations and sharing stories with one another while having dinner. Something about it feels natural and warm, as opposed to so many commercials now that feel almost painfully staged.

It also presents an interesting campaign, known simply as #DarkForDinner.

I don’t think I need to explain any further.

“What will you learn when you go Dark for Dinner?”

Take the challenge starting on Sunday (June 14)  and tell us your experiences, PopWrappers!
