Did all those prayers to Papa Legba work? After declaring last year that she was “done” with American Horror Story, Jessica Lange may have changed her mind. In a interview with The Wrap, the actress shared:
“If Ryan came to me and said, ‘Would you want to do a small character for a couple episodes?’ I would absolutely say yes if I liked it. This was a great collaboration, so I would love to keep working with him.”
Last fall Ryan Murphy had explained:
“It always starts with a character for Jessica, so I think I’d have to present her with something she was very interested in. I really want her to keep her hand in. Does that mean thirteen episodes? Does that mean six? Does that mean one?”
So maybe during the writing process for season five, Murphy did indeed create that juicy role that enticed Ms. Lange back into the AHS fold. Of course Jessica did qualify that she would want her role to be a “small” one for a “couple” of episodes, but even that would be an incredible gift to fans who were mourning her absence from the upcoming season.
We’ll have to wait and see if Jessica is indeed one of the faces behind the doors of American Horror Story: Hotel when it opens for business this October on FX.
