Avril Lavigne Breaks Down While Discussing Lyme Disease Battle

Canadian superstar Avril Lavigne finally sits down with Good Morning America and breaks down about her struggle and battle with Lyme disease.

Poor girl.

Avril Lavigne sent her fans into worry mode, when she began cancelling appearances for an undisclosed ailment. It was later revealed that the 30 year old Canadian singer was battling Lyme disease.

Now, speaking publicly for the first time with ‘Good Morning America’, Avril tears up while discussing the disease as well as the support from her fans.

She first described when she first noticed it and how doctors initially responded:

“I literally became bedridden last October,”

“They would pull up their computer and be like, ‘Chronic fatigue syndrome.’ Or, ‘Why don’t you try to get out of bed, Avril, and just go play the piano?’ It’s like, ‘Are you depressed?’”

Hearing Avril describe the reactions from the doctors is heartbreaking, and very alarming. Nobody should be told they’re overreacting.

It’s hard seeing Avril so emotional, but we all truly have no idea what she’s been going through the past few months.

Seeing her get overwhelmed by the amount of love from her fans is incredible though. So touching.

Our thoughts continue to go out to Avril during her difficult recovery process.

We’ll be waiting on new music from you girl!!
