Netflix To Air Show About Atheist Madalyn Murray O’Hair

Netflix has recently acquired rights to The Most Hated Woman in America, which tells the story of Madalyn Murray O’Hair, the founder of American Atheists.

O’Hair was given the name The Most Hated Woman in America by Time magazine. That probably had something to do with the fact that she helped cut down on the mandatory religious readings in public schools. She’s also known for her anti-religious speeches, views, and comments. Along with her son and granddaughter, she was kidnapped and brutally murdered in 1995.

This is a prime time for Netflix to air a movie like this. With the recent SCOTUS decision and all the movements against religious beliefs, Netflix has so many opportunities to show her views and the like, rather than just her murder. I have full faith in Netflix taking these steps and showing her personal views; they’ve been pretty obviously liberal lately, as exemplified through their recent shows like Sense8 and Grace and Frankie.

Melissa Leo (The Fighter) will be starring in the film.
