New Thriller ‘Braindead’ Gets 13-Episode Order From CBS

New comedic-thriller Braindead, created by the minds behind The Good Wife, has received a 13-episode order from CBS. Will you be watching?

The TV line-up for summer 2016 got a new addition this week with the announcement of CBS ordering thirteen episodes of comic-thriller Braindead.

The series comes from the celebrated duo of Robert and Michelle King, creators and executive producers of the smash hit TV show The Good Wife.

The pair recently signed a new three-year producing deal with CBS television and Braindead is their first project as part of this new deal.

It will be written by the Kings while Liz Glotzer, David Zucker, and Ridley Scott will serve as executive producers for CBS.

The story of the show focuses on a young Capitol Hill staffer as she gets her first job in Washington D.C. She goes on to discover two things – that alien spawn have come to Earth and eaten the brains of several other staffers and Congressmen, and that the government is no longer functioning.

The Kings, who will continue their roles as executive producers and showrunners of The Good Wife, said of the 13- episode series:

“We wanted to do a show that was a mix of genre-pulp and high-brow politics. It seemed like the best way to address the news today – not straight, but as the opening act of a horror movie.”
