Raleigh Ritchie, one of the UK’s hidden musical gems,
recently made the decision to re-release one of his best songs (and my personal favorite), “Bloodsport,” as a single, dropping the music video for it just a couple of hours ago.
“Bloodsport” now boasts a new, more intricate instrumental and changes to Raleigh’s vocal ad-libs that allow him to show off his gritty, undeniably-alluring voice even more.
The music video begins with a fairly straightforward plot, in line with the lyrics, before veering off down a slightly quirkier path. It fits his style for music videos, if you’re already familiar with Raleigh; it’s unique and seems to suit his personality.
The video’s ending leads me to believe that a short film may be in the works as well. That better not be a tease, Raleigh!
