Who’d have thought that just giving an answer to a question would reignite one of the biggest TV debates ever?
Well that’s exactly what happened when, answering a fans’ question on Twitter on Friday, Hayley Atwell simply stated that, rather than simply being in Doctor Who, she’d like to be Doctor Who instead, and who can blame her?

As she continues to delight audiences in Agent Carter, which will soon return for a second season, Hayley Atwell, one of the UK’s biggest TV stars, also appears to be looking beyond her own show and branching out into Whovian world.
Even DW show-runner Steven Moffat is open to the possibility of a woman taking control of the Tardis. Late last year he said “it’s not impossible, no, it is entirely down to who the best person is.”
The suggestion of there ever being a female Doctor Who has divided fans for some time and is likely to continue to do so, but I for one would love to see Hayley Atwell in the Tardis.
