Based on a best-selling novel, The Martian is Ridley Scott’s new motion picture and, as always, it comes bearing the promise of being beyond incredible.
The movie hits theaters on October 2 and, to get us pumped, 20th Century Fox has released a new full-length trailer.
“During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive,” the movie summary reads.
With a screenplay written by Drew Goddard (World War Z) and produced by Mark Huffam (Prometheus, World War Z), Aditya Sood (Let’s Be Cop, Deadpool), Michael Schaefer (Now You See Me, Exodus: Gods and Kings), Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Sherlock Holmes), and Ridley Scott himself,The Martian also has a cast filled with legends such as Matt Damon, Kate Mara, Jessica Chastain, Sebastian Stan, Kristen Wiig, Sean Bean, Michael Peña, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jeff Daniels, and others.
