As the X Factor promotional pictures of singer Rita Ora were released today,  the 24-year-old says in an interview that she has had a fear of dying, otherwise known as “thanatophobia’, ever since she was a child.

“Death is my biggest phobia, “ she told the Guardian during a Q&A session,  “I used to have panic attacks when I was little, saying, ‘Mum, I don’t want to die.’  I’ve been to therapy and still try to go every week.”

Ora will be joining the X Factor judging panel this Autumn alongside, Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.

The singer is also expected to have a new album out later this year, following from her 2012 debut, Ora.  She’s released a great summer single and video called “Poison” which rocketed up the iTunes charts last month. Her vocals on Charles Hamilton’s “New York Raining” have kept that song in our mind over quite a period of time.  After a short stint last season as a coach on The Voice UK with Sir Tom Jones will.iam, and Ricky Wilson, we can’t wait to see her back on television this Fall.
