Girl Meets World star Rowan Blanchard is riding the internet waves this week with her latest statements on White Feminism. In a recent Instagram post, the young actress makes her case on the touchy subject when a fan on Tumblr asks of her thoughts.
The actress plays the daughter of Cory and Topanga Matthews on Disney’s spinoff of Boy Meets World. Rowan is no stranger to social issues: her Instagram has served as a platform for political awareness for her young fans before. From supporting Caitlyn Jenner to giving awareness to the death of Sandra Bland, this isn’t the first time Rowan has used her platform to speak out.

Directly quoted from her three part essay, Rowan says,”White feminism forgets all about intersectional feminism. The way a black woman experiences sexism and inequality is different from the way a white woman experiences sexism and inequality. Likewise with trans-women and Hispanic women.”
She even goes on to defend her friend, Amandla Stenberg, who was labeled an “angry black girl” after this post.

Rowan’s essays can be found on her Instagram here! We were also excited to see support for her coming from not only a huge portion of the internet, but self-proclaimed feminist Emma Watson, and co-star Rider Strong.
Continue to be awesome, Rowan!
