The Flash Casts Jesse Quick, Tokamak & More News

The Flash casts even more DC characters in its upcoming, second season, including Jesse Quick and Firestorm villain Tokamak.

When The Flash returns to The CW this fall, fans can expect to see even more familiar characters. Fellow speedster Jesse Quick and Firestorm villain Tokamak are the latest DC Comics characters to be added to the rapidly expanded cast.

Jesse Quick will be played by Violett Beane, who is a relative newcomer fresh off a role in the upcoming comedy Slash with Michael Ian Black. In the comics, Jesse Quick is the speedster daughter of Golden Age heroes Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle. In the show, Quick will get caught in the middle of a fight between the Flash, played by Grant Gustin, and the as-of-yet uncast Zoom. Beane is set to appear in multiple episodes as a brilliant but odd college student.

Demore Barnes, recently of Hemlock Grove fame, has been cast as Henry Hewitt, a “charming, but cocky scientist who was affected by the same Particle Accelerator explosion that created the Flash“. Hewitt is recruited by Caitlin Snow (played by Daniele Panabaker) to join Team Flash. In the comics, Hewitt’s alter-ego is the Firestorm villain Tokamak, a CEO and executive director who tries to recreate the same accident that created Firestorm in the hopes of capturing his powers.

Former love interest Linda Park, played by Malese Jow, will also return in season 2. Executive producer Gabrielle Stanton said that Park’s history with Barry “will put both Iris and The Flash in unexpected danger“. Park’s character in the comics is the love interest of Wally West, a character also set to appear this season.

The Flash returns to screens on October 6 at 8:00 on The CW.
