Yahoo have bagged themselves the exclusive look at Michael Fassbender in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed adaptation.
Based on the hugely successful Ubisoft video game series, Fassbender will play Callum Lynch, a brand new character in the universe, which is being introduced to the ‘same world’ as the movies, assuming this new story will be canonical. This is still to be clarified, though.
Lynch is a descendant of the Assassin’s society and has unlocked genetic memories which allows him to walk in the shoes of Aguilar, an Assassin based in 15th Century Spain to take on the Knights Templar in the modern day. Near enough the basis of every single Assassin’s Creed game then, which is nice. At least they’re not going too far from the original concept.
Production begins on Monday, Aug 31 with the film due to release on Dec 21st, 2016.
Here’s hoping for an Ezio cameo, right?
