Elementary star Lucy Liu became a first-time Mom and shared the happy news with fans over twitter and Instagram this week (August 27). The actress released an adorable black and white photo of her and her new son, with the caption “Introducing the new little man in my life, my son Rockwell Lloyd Liu. In <3!”

A representative for Liu confirmed that Rockwell was born via surrogate, saying “Lucy Liu is the proud mother of Rockwell Lloyd Liu, brought into the word via gestational carrier. Mom and baby are healthy and happy.”
This is the first child for Liu, who spoke about motherhood in 2010. At the time, she said that she didn’t have a “settling down time” in mind, saying that she didn’t feel tied to a biological clock. She continued to say that:
“I don’t ever think for me this traditional way is the way to go for me because I haven’t had a traditional life.”
Liu currently stars as Dr. Watson on the popular CBS show Elementary, and is famous for roles in the Charlie’s Angels and Kill Bill movies, and in shows such as Ally McBeal. She is also a proud mom to an adorable chocolate lab named Apple, who features quite heavily in her Instagram feed.
All of us at PopWrapped would like to express our best wishes to Liu and Rockwell at this happy time. Congratulations!
