As if Sunday’s MTV VMA‘s couldn’t have gotten any crazier… they did.
Kanye West has decided that in the 2020 Presidential Election, he will be running for president.
“I don’t know what I finna lose after this. It don’t matter, though; It’s not about me. It’s about ideas. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth,” Future Mr. President Kanye West said. “And yes, as you probably could’ve guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.”
Well. I think he’s great.
Then, he addressed the crowd’s concerns of.. “Did he smoke something before he came out here,” because the answer is “Yes, I rolled up a little something. I knocked the edge off.”
Presidential Candidate Kanye was presented with an award from Taylor Swift, whom he’d been in a bit of a spat with at a prior VMA.
My first thought was that maybe next Shia LeBeouf will run. PS, Shia, if you do now, because of me, I want to help.
PPS, since then the White House has responded to Kanye’s “candidacy”, and they don’t seem to worried about the possibility of the rapper in their house. White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said he looks forward “to seeing what slogan he chooses to embroider on his campaign hat.”
