Bristol Palin has accused President Obama of “encouraging racial strife” after he invited a Muslim teenager to The White House. Earlier this week, ninth-grader Ahmed Mohamed brought a home-made clock to his school, MacArthur High School (Irving, Texas) to show his teachers. However, the police were called and he was detained because his teachers thought that Ahmed had attempted to make a bomb. He was later released.
Ahmed has received great support from social media, with #IStandWithAhmed trending for days and plenty of support from celebrities. Most notably, President Obama tweeted an invite for Ahmed to attend The White House, saying “we should inspire more kids like you to like science”.

Palin, however, believes Obama’s act of kindness was anything but positive. Writing on her blog, the 24 year old says that Obama should stay out of this kind of stuff, as it “encourages racial strife” and “encourages victimhood”. She even suggests that Obama’s actions put the blame on the police, who “made a mistake”. She goes on to suggest that Obama’s tweet was premeditated, “childish” and “dividing”.
Unsurprisingly, President Obama has yet to comment.
