Leonardo DiCaprio Teaming Up With Showtime For New Series

Leonardo DiCaprio is working with Showtime to create a series based on the influence Wall Street had on the FBI and mafia in the 1980s.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Showtime may have a new project in the works, and it is reportedly about the Mafia.

DiCaprio and Brett Johnson, best known as a writer for another Showtime series, Ray Donovan, are teaming up to create the drama. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the unnamed series will explore the decade-long relationship between a rogue federal agent and mafia captain. Each will violate the codes of their organization in the series, which will take a close look of the power Wall Street had on both the FBI and mafia in the 1980s.

Johnson is reportedly ready to write the script and executive produce the series with DiCaprio. Others on board with the series include Jennifer Davisson Killoran, of Appian Way, Bryan Zuriff, from Ray Donovan, Charles Pacheco, Dan Pearson and Jennifer Erwin.

This is not the only television project that DiCaprio is working on, either, as he has already signed a deal with Netflix for a documentary project, and is also working on a TV adaptation of The Searcher, a book by Simon Toyne.

The series has not yet been picked up by Showtime, but, if it does, it would join another newcomer, Billions, along with Homeland, The Affair, Penny Dreadful, Masters of Sex, and Shameless.
