She was the star of the night; after all, it was the premier of a film in which she stars.
But even Anne Hathaway, an Academy Award winner and huge box office draw, was not immune to being star-stuck when one of the best selling artists of all time came gliding in on the red carpet.
This all transpired at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City this week. Hathaway was in full movie star mode and was animatedly talking to journalists about her new film, The Intern. Despite trying to maintain her composure, she totally lost it when she caught sight of pop diva, Mariah Carey.
“She’s at my f***ing premiere!” the acclaimed actress exclaimed.
“I’m freaking out. Like, she’s two arms’ lengths away right now,” she gushed.
At one point she even found it hard to articulate her thoughts: “It’s just the best glamorous ever,” she said “That’s not even a sentence, ’it’s just the best glamorous ever.’ I went to college. I didn’t graduate!” she added, obviously feeling flustered.
When the reporter who was interviewing her told her to go talk to Mariah, she seemed shy to do it. “No, no, no, it’s fine, it’s fine,”she said, then added “I’m gonna meet her when the time is right.”
