TMZ has reported that Caitlyn Jenner will not be charged with any crime for the fatal car accident in which she was involved in February of this year. A six-month investigation into the incident left Jenner wondering if she would be held liable for the other driver’s death.
According to early reports, Jenner was driving at a high speed and could not stop her car — also towing a dune buggy — in time to avoid the accident. In the D.A.’s statement, it is said that the only crime with which she might be charged is a speeding violation:
Crime also requires ordinary negligence. Based on facts, cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt that suspect’s conduct was unreasonable.
The statement clearly states that Jenner was traveling slightly slower than the victim and that she did press the brakes on her car — though belatedly — before impact.
