Earlier this month, Katelyn impressed fans with a cover of Tori Kelly’s “Nobody Love“, straight from her kitchen, and in a newly release video the Finally songstress has decided to follow in Superfruit’s footsteps to update a hip-hop smash!
This week Katelyn Jae has decided to tackle Drake’s moody “Hotline Bling.” The track has been steadily climbing up the charts since its July release and is currently one spot away from the top. Katelyn gave the hot song her own unique interpretation, and trust us when we say that you don’t want to miss out!
In her hands, “Hotline Bling” is transformed into a gorgeous R&B infused ballad, filled with soaring vocals and atmospheric production. Armed with nothing but a drum machine, keyboard, and her voice, Katelyn Jae brings the house down.
Jae’s cover of “Hotline Bling” proves just how versatile and imaginative the young performer is. The track’s sparse production brings a unique new edge to the song, making it all the more intimate as a result. It also shows her explosive range and emotional qualities. The longing and emotion in her voice are hugely evident as her clear voice soars over the simple production.
Get it girl, because them vocals are truly slaying! This is yet another truly phenomenal teaser from Katelyn Jae, that is clearly meant to leave fans hungry for even more new music. We’d say that she’s done a pretty good job of that already!
