This is a welcome and surprise treat for all my fellow Potterheads; sure, it’s not the official opening for the studio theme park, but it’s pretty damn close!
Universal Studios Hollywood is giving fans and curious individuals alike an opportunity to take a sneak peek at Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter via a virtual tour. Universal launched the official website for “the West Coast Wizarding World” today, and the website included a virtual tour of the upcoming Harry Potter-inspired theme park which was announced earlier this year; The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is set to open in Spring of 2016, and the virtual tour, which has commentary provided by the beloved HP trio, gives viewers a first look at the many attractions “including beloved establishments such as Zonko’s Joke Shop, the Three Broomsticks, and Honeydukes sweet shop.” Mark Woodbury, the President of Universal Creative for Universal Parks and Resorts, also commentates during the virtual tour with Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will also include a 3D ride, entitled Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, which is bound to be a fan-favorite attraction and which takes passengers “through familiar scenes and settings from the films”, and include “the Flight of the Hippogriff ride, which will be the first outdoor roller coaster at Universal Studios Hollywood.”
The virtual tour is a must-see for people eagerly anticipating the opening of the massive theme park.
