November is here and fall is all around, so Mondays only make the case worse. Thankfully, PopWrapped has once again gathered all the brand-new, worth-listening tunes in a #MusicMonday playlist to give a soundtrack to the day everyone loves to hate.
“Sax” – Fleur East
She came second in last year’s The X Factor UK, but Fleur East managed to score a #1 with her cover of “Uptown Funk” during her time on the show. She’s now back with a brand-new single, “Sax”, which takes advantage of the whole saxophone trend and thrives while at it. Singing all sassy and with her attitude right on point, the track serves as the right kind of funky banger with one killer of a breakdown that will help it find its way on radio.
“Adventure Of A Lifetime” – Coldplay
Straight after the promotion for Ghost Stories ended, Coldplay announce their final album A Head Full Of Dreams and drop the lead single, “Adventure Of A Lifetime”. The Stargate-produced cut serves as a tribute to the 80′s disco sound, with some of their significant funk kind of rockery thrown in the mix to create an amazing song. Chris Martin does an excelllent job with delivering a more laid-back rendition on the jam-worthy tune.
“Do You Wanna Get High?” – Weezer
American rockers Weezer kicked off the promotional era for their upcoming, tenth studio album with “Thank God For The Girls” and have now delivered another new tune, “Do You Wanna Get High?”. This one brings back to mind the sound that made everyone fall for them in the 90′s, as the insane strings play the main role and the drums set the beat, while the hooks are extremely addictive and radio-friendly.
“Makeshift Love” – Good Charlotte
Emo kids of the 00′s rejoice, Good Charlotte are officially back! The pop-punk, alt-rockers have reunited and returned to the scene with comeback single “Makeshift Love”. With the guitars and drums hitting hard and creating one hell of a catchy melody, the bandmates are found delivering their significant old-school melancholy in terms of lyrics, in their very well-known, radio-friendly way.
“Be Somebody” – Boyce Avenue
Brothers trio Boyce Avenue have stunned us with their incredible covers over the years and with a new album on the way, they have now returned with a brand-new track of their own, “Be Somebody”. The track serves as a country-inspired folk-pop tune with melodic guitar riffs all over the production and romantic lyrics to go by. It’s kind of made to be performed live, as the chorus hook is extremely anthemic, with some repetitive oh’s to stick on one’s mind.
“So Good” – LZ7
We were introduced to UK-based trio LZ7 a couple of years ago with their debut album Aftershow and they’re now back with a new single, titled “So Good”. Kicking off with the main piano keys, the track starts off both verses with a rap verse, before the vocals come in and the dance-tastic production builds into the incredibly catchy chorus hook and the breakdown that comes right after. It actually does feel so good!
“Coming Home” – Sigma feat. Rita Ora
Our favorite drum & bass duo Sigma are preparing to drop their debut studio album Life on December 4 and have now returned with another single. This one is titled “Coming Home” and serves as a collaboration with current The X Factor UK judge and singing sensation Rita Ora. The melody kicks off piano-driven, only to be taken to drum & bass heaven later and explode on the gospel-influenced chorus, whilethe lyrics carry quite some nostalgia.
“Better” – BANKS
BANKS caught everyone’s attention with her debut studio album Goddess last year and she’s now coming back for more. With an album out next year and a current tour with The Weeknd, the songstress has just released her brand-new single, the Peder Losnegård-co-crafted “Better”. On this one, she keeps up the dark and twisted alt-pop sound with a synth-heavy production complimenting her vulnerable yet outstanding vocals.
“Scream It Out” – Ellie Goulding
Ellie Goulding has now released her third studio album Delirium, and, as everyone must have noticed, she’s turned to pop. Sure, the record will deliver a bunch of hits, but nothing shines brighter than the standard edition’s final track “Scream It Out”. Keeping things simple with minimal piano keys on the verses, the track slowly builds into a synth-heavy ballad once on its hell of an anthemic chorus, bringing previous offerings to mind.
“Miracles” – Martin Jensen feat. Bjørnskov
Danish producer and DJ Martin Jensen is making a major label-supported debut at the moment with a brand-new single, “Miracles”. The track kicks off with simple keys, before it evolves into a laid-back, tropical house heaven with a sample from the well-known “Duck Army” viral video. The piano-driven production is perfectly complimented by the butter-soft vocals of up and coming Danish singer Bjørnskov.
