We’ve all been practitioners of the Amazon tradition. We wait way too long to look for that perfect gift for mum and dad, and find it on Amazon for nearly a quarter of what it costs at World Market.
What a deal!
So we hit the Submit button and, if we have Prime, see it on our doorstep in two glorious days. If we are one of the unlucky souls without Prime, we spend the next three weeks before the Winter holiday pacing a trough in our front porch.
Happy holidays!
But fear not, fellow shoppers! Amazon has a plan to make the holiday shipping hassle a thing of Christmas past. Instead of relying on our standard post services (FedEx, UPS, etc) Amazon will instead be renting out a fleet of planes.
A fleet. Of planes.
According to Time, the online shop titan will be renting out 20 of these things…at approximately $600,000 per month.
We’re just a few steps away from that drone delivery method Amazon has been promising for a while. While the package delivery contracts can make post services billions of dollars a year, it’s no surprise Amazon is making things a little more private. Other companies who rely on similar delivery systems may soon follow suit.
Either way, you can rest assured your holiday packages will arrive on time.
Happy shopping!
