We are about 80 days away from the release of the highly anticipated film Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and everyone is already speculating on the future of the main characters, as well as the possibilities for the upcoming Justice League films (which are currently being filmed right now). While promoting a Doritos sponsored contest for filmmakers, director Zack Snyder began to offer subtle hints that extend past the major reveal that Doomsday will appear in Batman V Superman, saying, “We’re working on Justice League right now, right? In a weird way, Justice League is the next step for these characters to form a bigger team. Maybe there’s a bigger enemy to fight,” Snyder explains in the video interview with Obsev. This alone leaves me wracking my brain for a potential uber villain who the Justice League can face – and my first thought goes straight to the devilish fiend Darkseid. Snyder goes on to briefly reference Ben Affleck’s role (a major topic of conversation) and makes it known that fans should certainly be pleased, stating that “[Affleck] is an amazing Batman….He’s a great Batman.”
By what we have heard, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is a high contender to be a very formidable comic book film adaptation; the fact that it’s filled with brief or extensive cameos suggests the team will finally unite, and that only means that we have quite a bit to look forward to in the coming days. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice may be the film I’m most looking forward to in 2016 – after countless comics read, cartoons watched, and video games played, my inner DC fan is dying of excitement for what’s to come! The official synopsis for the film reads:
“Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.”
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25th, 2016.
